SymsSC President

For SymsSC President...

A r i e l a   G e l l e r

Hi, my name is Ariela Geller. I am running for SYMS President. Over the past semesters, I have currently worked as President of the Business Leadership club. We had many great events including Mocktails and Minutes and brining Jake and Amir in for the SYMS dinner in a few weeks (So come!) I am also currently business manager for the Associate, so I get all those beautiful ads you see in the newspaper. I also look forward to continuing my peer tutoring within the SYMS community in order to assist my peers in their studies. If elected, I would like to still be hands on in SYMS’s programming.

SCW: Describe one goal you want to accomplish for the student body and tell us how you would accomplish that goal.

I want to increase the presence of SYMS on the Beren Campus. In other words, I want to put SYMS on the map. I am sure most of you thought SYMS was closing this year, but as you can see from the picture, my plan is to make sure that SYMS takes over the world. I plan on creating world dominating events of mass attendance. I would utilize all the amazing clubs that SYMS has to offer in order to ensure SYMS domination. With your help, I can use my presidential super powers and destroy all the escalators that get in our way. So come my fellow SYMians and plan for world domination over the Beren campus.
Putting SYMS on the map!

SCW: You have planned a huge event, but you wake up the morning of the event with a migraine. How do you ensure a quality event even though you cannot personally attend?

I would do everything that I can physically can do. Then I would assign tasks and put my trust in the team that I have been working with up until this point. It is never a one person event, it is always a team that puts it together. Technology is great these days and I’d be able to be in contact with everyone at the event. (even if they don’t want me to!

SCW: one of your clubs has two club heads. You know that one is doing all of the work and "doesn't mind," but the club really needs both heads to be on their "A-game" in order to succeed. How do you proceed?

I would sit both of the club heads down and discuss how we need the club to move to the next level. Right now, I am not seeing that, so I am going to make it easier and assign specific tasks that you’re free to do how please, but this is what you each will focus on. Then they will have a wrestling cage match, winner takes it all…NOT!
